Paris’ galliERA

Paris is no doubt the fashion’s capital. However, many tourists might not know much about this fashion museum Le Musée Galliera that has been closed for renovation since April 26th, 2009, and will only reopen in Spring 2013. The museum, less well known because of its size and its location compares to the Musée des Arts Décoratifs which is in the centre and right next to the Louvre, is truly a beautiful space where you can really see historic pieces up close without the window glass protection like at the Decorative Arts Museum. If you don’t live in Paris nor a fashion devotee, you will unlikely to know that the movie The Devil Wears Prada was actually shot right in front of the entrance of the museum where Andy rushes to warn Mirandaabout a plot against her but of course, the next scene in the movie was totally NOT inside the museum! If you are interested to see the building from the outside, you can check it out at

The museum is actually very well preserved since the last century
The conservation of a historic fashion is just mind blowing
This is actually the back garden of the museum where you usually won’t go to but is quite beautiful

This is inside the museum
This is the outside today which looks very much like the black and white photo above
