Ecodesign

Ecodesign, an approach to design products with consideration for the environmental impacts, has been the focus of more and more designers in architectural and product creation in the last ten years. One of the leading pioneers in this field in France is probably the Paris based Mathieu Lehanneur. What caught our eyes with this designer is that his creations are not only ecologically oriented, but are also therapeutic and ergonomic studied to give that natural, esthetic, futuristic and modernly pure feel. His collaborations with scientists and doctors sets him apart from average designers who are only concerned with the esthetic. His goal is so that we can breathe better, sleep better, love better and live better. Let’s look at some of his inventions here:
Andrea
A living air filter which absorbs undesirable effects of contaminated air by the profusion of manufactured goods with the help of selected plants for their filtering ability
Once Upon a Dream
Ideal room designed for the guests of Veuve Cliquot champagne house’s Hôtel du Marc in Rheims to have a good rest with automatic curtain closure, temperature control and the activation of automatic lighting via the hanging plant

JWT Headquarters
A place for intellectual stimulation and creative optimization which promotes contact with the nature and allows a perpetual flow of ideas
Labobrain
The workplace for Harvard science professor David Edwards who is also the founder of Le Laboratoire. The design reflects the imaginative and creative region of the brain
Local River
Home storage unit for fish and plants based on the interdependence of the two living organisms to create a balanced system
Tomorrow is Another Day
